Emergency Service Training

Good morning, 

I am really pleased to share that a joint training operation took place on Tresco this Wednesday highlighting fantastic joint working with our dedicated partners.

A major incident simulation on Tresco Island really does highlight the unique challenges of operating in the Isles of Scilly — especially the reality that reinforcement resources aren’t just “on the way”… they’re potentially hours away and dependent on weather, tides, and transport availability.

Exercises like that really bring home:

                •              🚁 The impact of limited access and reliance on air/sea assets

                •              ⏱️ The importance of immediate on-island decision making

                •              🤝 The value of multi-agency familiarity before a real incident

                •              🏝️ How community resilience becomes operationally critical

Together we are making Devon and Cornwall and specifically the Isles of Scilly a safer place for all.
